Reviews From Former S12 Students

“It was excellent with healthy offerings. Each day started with PT in the morning. It was relaxed with a focus on warming up for the upcoming course of fire and an emphasis on breath control by Brian Mackenzie. There was a mix of shooting, medical training, and physical combatives.”

– CCW Safe After Action Review

“It was a really good time for me, personally, because I decided I wanted to get a taste of a lot of different things and this lined up with what I was looking for. It seems like in hindsight I could have just gone to individual classes to get deeper in each subject they cover. I wouldn’t go if your main concern is getting better as a shooter. You’ll definitely get better as a shooter, but half the instructional time is on medical/combatives. Some of the students really weren’t into the medical/combatives/fitness aspect of it and really just wanted to shoot all day. If that’s you, I’d just take shooting only classes and it’ll be a lot more efficient use of your time and money. You can also watch giant sections of the one from May 2020 on YouTube to see what it’s like. They film the whole event.”

CarryTrainer S12 Course Review (Nashville, TN)

‘I attended my first S12 and also first Carry Trainer Class, I felt welcome from the minute I got there till it was time to leave. I had watched videos so I kind of knew what to expect, but there was so much more than what the videos show. The level of talent there from all of the instructors was incredible. I come from an Advanced Teen Driving School instructor background, and was really impressed by ALL of the Instructors there. There were some things I missed during training, but it was never because of the instructors, you’re fed a LOT of information. I learned the things I was good at and what I really need to work hard on. I will definitely go back again, just to learn more. Those in charge also preach safety all the time and I never felt uncomfortable around any of the attendees there. The nice thing about this course is you participate in shooting drills that you can’t practice at your local gun range, skills that you may need to use if it all goes bad. I would definitely recommend this course for any shooter who wants to improve their skills. Oh and the FOOD at S12 was INCREDIBLE and the people I met there were amazing.”

Todd M

“I left the S12 event a better shooter, a more confident/capable protector of my family, gained knowledge that I can pass on to those in my community and hungry to go out gaining more knowledge from courses held by CarryTrainer and others. Hands down I would recommend this course and others put on by Mickey and his team. Was it cheap? No. Nothing good in life is. But it was worth every dime and applaud Mickey for being able to put on such an event with. Mickey wore many hats throughout that weekend- from lead instructor, event coordinator, communicating/making adjustments on catering, promoting sponsors that helped make that event happen, as well as designated comedian. I appreciate the opportunity to train with CarryTrainer and look forward to more events- perhaps even in Maryland…”
