This is the perfect foundation class for any person wishing to develop a solid understanding of pistol safety, marksmanship and defensive shooting. We are experts at working with new students, helping them to feel comfortable, safe and sure of themselves. This is not a boot camp environment.
***If you do not have a handgun we can rent you one. Please call to discuss prior to sign up. We prefer if you don’t own one to speak to us first. Most first time gun buyers end up with what the salesman thinks they should have, not what is right for them. We can also help with ammo if you are new to this***
Topics covered
- Safety…..above all else!!!
- How do the different guns work? Revolvers versus semi-automatics. How to properly handle them, load and unload. All safely of course.
Grip. How to hold the handgun. Simple question, right? The human weapon interface is paramount to good shooting. As with most things learning correct off the get go is way better than correcting bad habits. - Sights. What’s the right, wrong and maybe OK ways to use the sights.
- Trigger manipulation. How to press the trigger to hit what you are aiming at.working for pinpoint accuracy at distance or blazing fast to stop bad g down are two different things. There exists no one solution for all problems.
Cost $150.00
Topics covered.
- Grip. The human weapon interface is paramount to good shooting.
- Trigger manipulation. Working for pinpoint accuracy at distance or blazing fast to burn a tango down are two different things. There exists no one solution for all problems.
- Draw stroke. We will help you develop a smooth and consistent draw and above all else a safe draw.
- Reloading techniques. Just like trigger work there is no single solution for all problems.
- Shooting between multiple targets.
- Cover versus concealment? Should you shoot and move or take the shot?
- Considerations for carry weapons, ammunition and gear.
- We stress to train with and in what you live in. Don’t show up dressed like a super soldier if you live in jeans and a T- shirt. Bring the gun you carry and let's get to work.

8 HOUR, 16 HOUR AND 24 HOUR COURSE.
This course will leave the attendee better equipped to deal with a violent attack in a public space, be it a school, office, place of worship, or dark movie theater. This is not a political analysis or moral debate on the topic, but rather a set of tools and skills to save lives from those intent on killing.
While much information is available on the topic, most of it is dated and/or watered down to avoid upsetting its recipients. The uncomfortable truth is, often there is no way to deal with this type of violence in a pleasant or peaceful manner. The correct mental approach is analogous to the correct physical response, which is Direct and Rapid Action to stop the threat at all costs, meaning get to the point of the problem. Bad people exist and it may be forced upon you to affect your own survival.
This is a challenge where time is almost never an option. The course is designed in three training blocks: an eight hour; sixteen hour; or the full twenty-four hour course. Eight hours covers the topics below from discussion perspective. The sixteen hour course adds in a component of real force training, undertaken with safety equipment. The full twenty-four hour class includes the training above, plus eight hours of emergency medical training for injuries relevant to the topic.
These are real solutions for real problems. This course was designed for corporations, schools, houses of worship, small businesses and groups. The material is presented at your location. This allows us to provide feedback on the building and grounds relevant you and your needs.
Course Topics:
- Firearms-Safety, operation, types used for defense, marksmanship fundamentals, ammunition concerns and gear selection i.e. holsters etc. Each student will learn to safely load/unload several handgun types. They will also be able to perform safe manipulations of the each particular weapon and understand its functions.
- Considerations for ancillary and improvised weapons. Knives, pepper spray, Taser, tactical pen, or whatever is available such as a fire extinguisher or broom stick.
- Understanding the rapid changing dynamics of self-defense. Making well placed shots while being fired upon is much different than making holes in cardboard during a comfortable day at the indoor range.
- Continuing training and education. Imagine the most terrifying and stressful experience of your life, now double that and add in having to perform fine motor skill movements such as drawing, aiming and firing a pistol all the while your heart is pounding in your ears. Does your level of training have you prepared for such a scenario?
- Emergency medicine concerns. Even in a situation with help minutes away a victim can bleed to death in 60 seconds from an arterial injury. The emergency training to mitigate this can be learned easily. We also address the need to stop and secure all threats before providing treatment.
- Incorporating your family, friends and coworkers into your strategies for prevailing.
- Developing habits that will give you every edge possible to stay safe and prevail.
- Creating an action plan specific for your needs. This includes details on training with that plan moving forward.
All students must be of good character and have no criminal or medical history that would prohibit them from owning or handling firearms and or weapons.

8 HOUR COURSE
Course Topics:
Building/facility security. Who is coming and going and is anyone paying attention?
Situational awareness. Keeping yourself safe and out of harm’s way is always option one, until it’s not possible. Then what?
Combat mindset. Are you mentally prepared to use deadly force to protect yourself or the life of another? Sometimes even when you are aware trouble comes to you. How do you convert fear to action? This idea is often stated but seldom understood. We see it as the key to prevailing in a violent scenario above all else.
Learning to see what is out of place and how to recognize pre attack indicators. Have you ever been in a situation and thought something looked “off”. That’s your subconscious telling you something. This is a huge tool and cops have been trained on it for years.
Use of cover and concealment. What is the difference?
Firearms-Safety, operation, types for concealed carry, marksmanship fundamentals, ammunition concerns and gear selection i.e. holsters etc. Each student will learn to safely load/unload several handgun types. They will also be able to perform safe manipulations of the each particular weapon and understand its functions.
